The Fast And The Furious... The original racing movie, for me at least... (I saw it before I saw Gone in 60 Seconds) Yes, this movie has been out for 10 years now, and I'm just now getting around to reviewing it, but that's because I just saw Fast Five and I've fallen in love again. The series started off with this movie, arguably the best in the series, with Fast Five being its only real competition. The film stars Paul Walker as Brian O'Connor, an LA cop trying to make his big break by going undercover into the street racing scene in order to solve a string of semi hijackings. Vin Diesel dominates the screen as the enigmatic anti-hero Dominic "Dom" Toretto, the leader of the fast paced racing world. While this movie has gotten some flak for being similar to Point Break, the cars and Vin Diesel alone are reason enough to warrant a viewing. Plus, chicks love Paul Walker and Vinny, so you may even be able to make it a date night. Plot: 8/10 Overall: 9/10 Final Word: This movie single-handedly got thousands of people involved in sport compact tuning, as well as racing in general. Plus it jump-started Vin Diesel's career and gave us some hella cool racing scenes, even for 10 years ago. Go watch it. |
